Gary H. Parker is the CEO of Parker Psychiatric Services, Incorporated and Parker Therapeutic Services, Incorporated. Mr. Parker is the company’s visionary and creative engineer to help the company reach future goals and formulate the necessary steps to get the organization there. Thorough, Mr. Parker’s vision and leadership PPS started as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program and has grown to become a one-stop Mental Health Agency that provides Outpatient Mental Health Center (OMHC), Substance Abuse – Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and DUI/DWI. Additionally, Parker Psychiatric Services, Inc. has obtained National Accreditation with CARF-Aspire to Excellence through Mr. Parker’s leadership.
Mr. Parker has been CEO of Parker Psychiatric Services, Incorporated since its inception in 2013 and Parker Therapeutic Services, Incorporated since 2007. Prior to launching his own companies, Mr. Parker spent 15 years as vice president of social service and mental health company in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Parker graduated from Howard University School of Social Work with a concentration in Program Development. Mr. Parker earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and a Bachelor of Social Work from Salisbury University. He is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
Mr. Parker has been instrumental in helping thousands of clients reach their potential in the mental health and child welfare system. Mr. Parker invests in the growth and development of his staff to help create the space for this success to be possible.
Mr. Parker’s vision of providing wraparound supportive services to children and adults in the community who are actively receiving mental health services by utilizing the SPECIAL Model. Mr. Parker developed the SPECIAL Model using a holistic clinical approach to clients reach their target goals without being in an institutional setting but instead in homes and familiar community.
Also, Mr. Parker is credited with creating the slogan “Mental Health Services Without Walls” which underscores PPS’s efforts to provide services in a community-based setting, including Outpatient Mental Health Center (OMHC), Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP), Substance Abuse – Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and DUI/DWI Classes.
